IGN Entertainment App Reviews

Im getting tired of having to view this on a browser, because viewing this app on an iPad Pro doesnt work very well with all the article headers cut off. Please fix it already.

First off, I love IGN. The entire organization is a wonderfully passionate project dedicated to the things us nerds love to love. I would be lying if I said I didnt use this app daily. Unfortunately that doesnt make it thermoset effective video streaming app ever. I often cant find a video Ive previously watched and theres no real archive of posts. I wish there were an easier way to socialize and interact with other members of ign and an all in one contact hub for the shows and podcasts. The Xbox one app and the online PC app are flawless, but unfortunately the mobile version is not quite up to snuff.

The video playback for this app is still absolutely terrible. Add to it these ridiculous pop up ads and you have a seriously broken experience that is still worth 1 star after many years. The biggest issue I have to date is now that I cannot scroll down anymore. I can get a few articles down before the scrolling freezes. Update: I have kept the same review for years. Years. Has the app changed yet? Nope, and neither will my review. It has actually gotten worse because now, the ads drag me out of the app and into safari which I dont even like to use anyway. This app is as bad as the guy who reviewed the Division and his many bad review before that one.

Please fix this stupid app because it crashes 24/7 OMG!!!!!

2 for the app. Not for IGN. But shame on Ign for letting this be their app.

Love having this app. Video game news on the go

Hate it. They give horrible reviews. I would not get this app

I used to love having this app. That is until they cranked up the sensitivity on the ad clicks. It is beyond frustrating. If you are scrolling down through articles and barely touch anywhere near an ad, it will take you to a download/sign-up page. It is very obvious that the touch sensitivity is cranked up to the max for these ads because this issue does not happen with regular articles. Im about to delete the app forever and get my gaming news somewhere else. Thats a shame too because I have been relying on ign for my gaming news for 15 years.

IGN has no problem posting things about movies that they feel you should know already before the movie has released and the latest spoiler of B vs S has made me reach my end with them goodbye ign. Also ads before videos will often play fine and then the actual video will not play.

Adverts are always an irritant but a added feature in most free apps. Apart from that, this app gives me organized feeds of all the news that is important to me and videos play just fine for me. I get what I need and thats the whole point.

Love the app on iPhone and iPad Air, but as mentioned before, iPad Pro formatting cuts off article titles. Please fix quickly!

I love IGN and have been following for YEARS. Ive downloaded the app and even written a report in app about how terrible the app is. Videos never play or crash. Ign.com provides a better experience than the app and thats sad. Please stop asking me to download the app when you havent fixed a thing. I get my hopes up every time and download it only to be let down.

Great app for all the gneek (nerd geek) stuff I want to see and lets me know all the gneek stuff I want to know. Thanks IGN keep on doing what youre doing and dont stop! ^ _ ^

Awesome app, not a lot too say except that when it works, its awesome. Unfortunately, it only works 25% of the time...

The video playback is terrible..!

With this app video game players wont need buy strategy guides for their games. People can get info about the games we interested in before paying for it.

Right from the initial launch of the app users will see the IGN application is meant to be designed to serve your interests. The app allows you to set your content preferences whether it be game platforms, genres and other types of news. Content includes video game news, reviews, video programming both mainstream and original, as well as movie, television, comics and technology articles. Access to any of this content can be modified anytime when accessing the news feed from the side menu. The IGN app also allows users to access a calendar which displays what has just been released as well as what is coming whether it be games, movies or comics. Besides just being able to read a broad spectrum of news users can create and follow news feeds for specific game titles. Titles you follow will be displayed in the side menu. Users can also access IGN tailored Wikipedia guides that gives all the data about a game that could be found. When searching for video content exclusively the section is divided into three categories which are movies, games and an original IGN program called Rewind Theater which provides in depth look at a film or game trailer by IGN staff. The section is structured by months of the year, as well as what is most popular. The app allows users to also search for content by keyword and you can filter the content based off its type whether it be articles, videos etc. Though the quality of the results can vary when even looking for something in particular it is helpful. This brings me to the drawbacks which are few but important to the overall experience. One is the elimination of IGN podcasts which are one of the best things about the brand. The app in previous versions allowed playback so this is something I would like to see restored. Another is feedback support where questions used to be answered quickly from the support link. Now no one from the company answers support questions. A third is content filtering. For the most part IGN gets this right but the one place it seems to be missing is at the main news feed. There seems to be no way to filter content by article and videos and for users like me who are more interested in the articles this is important. The last issue I have is more of an improvement where all of IGNs original content should be added and categories should be provided for it in the menu. Whether Daily Fix, Up At Noon, The Superhero Show or other programs, they all have their fans and should be able to viewed conveniently from the app especially since IGN has become more of a video content producer over the years. With that said this is still a great app. The design is sleek, colorful and easy to navigate,and many of the features from the website can be found here. All video game enthusiasts should own this application.
